Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is Sunday. While we're looking forward to new adventures with Dad, we thought we'd take a look back and share some of our favorite moments from the past. A few of the Skipper's crew were brave enough to share stories of creative boat covers, safety pin fishhooks, and other boating and fishing memories of their fathers.

"Summer wasn't summer as a kid till our dad dragged his two girls to the Root River to go fishing (branch fishing). Teaching us how to set up our rod and how to safely catch and release branches into the wild." Juliana, Product Specialist

"Dad spent his teenage years in the Florida Keys. He told us stories about taking the family cabin cruiser out of sight of land and, later, driving it through the outer bands of Hurricane Betsy to safe harbor on Key Largo. He tied safety pins to old tip-up rods and taught us to fish for bluegill with dough balls. The pins weren't barbed, so they were easier on the fish and less scary if one of us caught our finger on the point." Maureen, Editing Specialist

"Father's Day was always a little somber, a little unusual at our house. Dad died when we very young, but our mother was determined to make sure her little tom-boys never had a chance to miss out on all those outdoor father-daughter activities. She took us fishing, hiking, taught us to appreciate nature and the beauty of a good cookout. Here's a shout out to all the single mothers making it work. Happy Mom-Dad Day!" Jennifer, HR Specialist
