if I was to take apart the 4 screws at the top, would the complete ball valve come off and let water in the boat? The boat is in the water.

Hi Raymond,
You should be able to turn the valve to block the flow, however I would not suggest doing that in the water. Its really just not worth it. Strongly suggest taking the extra pre-caution to pull the boat out and do it with ease. Hope this helps, and if you have any further questions, feel free to contact back.
