How to Measure Your Windshield

Determine what kind of windshield you have, a plexiglass (similar to plastic) or a tempered glass (like window glass). Please measure based on the corresponding diagram below.

*Not all measurements are crucial. The starred measurements are the most important to be able to find a windshield. If you don’t have a windshield or it is too damaged to measure you should still be able to get the starred measurements from the boat or console.

Plexiglass Windshields:

These are usually one piece that just goes over the driver console and are typically less than 40 inches.

All measurements are measured from the base of the windshield:

  • A) *Front Inside Width – This is measured from the center of the curve on one side to the center of the curve on the other side. Feel free to give us a small range if you can’t get an exact measurement.
  • B) *Depth – This is measured from the furthest point at the front of the windshield to the furthest point at the back.
  • C) Outside Width – The widest point of the windshield. This will usually be at the back.
  • D) Height – This is the height measured straight up. DO NOT MEASURE AT AN ANGLE.

Tempered Glass Windshields:

These are usually multiple sections that span most of the width of the boat. These will sometimes have a section that opens in the middle called a walkthrough.

  • C) *Outside Width – The widest point of the windshield. This will usually be at the back.
  • D) Height – This is the height measured straight up. DO NOT MEASURE AT AN ANGLE.
  • E) Side Length – Center of the curve on one side to the back end.
  • F) Walkthrough Height – Height of just the center section.
  • G) Walkthrough Width – Width of just the center section.
