Is the Jim Black Boat Deck Hatch totally water proof? Looking for a replacement hatch for my 1995 21 ft. Boston Whaler Outrage. This rectangular hatch must be leak/water proof. In the very back of the boat close the scuppers that encloses the area just above the bilge pump. part number 581-1324-05 polar white 13 x 24.

No, I'm afraid not. Plastic deck hatches in general are considered water repellent. The will withstand normal spray and short term submersion, but the longer you use them, the more they will likely have some leakage. We aren't aware of any manufacturer who offers truly waterproof deck hatches.

Hi.... I'm looking for replacement hatches that access the bilge/battery areas on each side of my 2006 ProKat 2860. These look like the exact ones that are in there now. How do I know if I have Polar White or Arctic white (or some other white if there is another choice)? Thanks!

That is the million dollar question. Do the latches on your hatches look the same as these? You could narrow it down that way. If it IS a Jim Black hatch, we'd suggest contacting Hi Tide Mfg (info@gotohmg.com) directly to see if they have any way to tell you what white it was.
Polar white is the brightest white while arctic is an off white with a little beige/yellow in it. However polar color will fade in time and make look closer to arctic.
