Product Questions

I am restoring our old pontoon and replacing and relocating the console. I purchased a new Mercury outboard 115 HP Command Trust engine, which will not come for another 15 weeks or so. Thus for the steering system I am not sure about the cable length. I do need the helm so That I can install it in the console. Is the TELEFLEX BOAT EXTREME STEERING HELM SHX7626B | 1/2 INCH ROTARY NON-NFB compatible with the mercury 115 and can I purchase the cable later? I would need a 17' or 18' cable.
Thanks for your help

Hello Ronald,
Does your new Mercury unit have mechanical or hydraulic steering?

Thank you and have a great day!

I replaced my teleflex safety system helm with a nfb seastar extreem helm. I am having trouble getting the steering cable to lock into the nfb helm. The cable is an ssc6219 existing teleflex. I've tried depressing the release pin while turning the steering wheel but it still does not lock. Suggestions

Hello Earl,

Honestly, we aren't the best people to ask. You see, we aren't dealers/distributors - we purchase overstock and excess marine accessories - so we don't do installations and can't really trouble shoot. All we can suggest is to contact Seastar Solutions (formerly Teleflex)

Sorry we could not help.
