I have a new Kuumu, and some kind of thermostatic valve screwed into the cold inlet of my 6 gallon water heater tank.
the plastic screw cap broke. I need one of this but I don't understand why its hookup in cold intake pipe. this pipe
never get hot.. shouldn't this thermostatic mixing valve inline in the hot out of the heater tank? Pleae explain sir..

Honestly, we aren't the people to ask. We aren't dealers and we don't do installations/servicing and really aren't able to trouble shoot things like this. All we can suggest is to contact a dealer.
