This system comes with a dual 16 foot cable, part number SSC13516 . The 16 foot is measured from the helm connector to the end of the stainless shaft that connects to the link arm. If measuring an existing cable and you only measure the cable jacket, it will be too short!

The existing hole for my column is 3", will yours work or does it come with adapter plates? What steering wheel will work with this setup?

Hi Ron,
There are no "adaptor" plates, the the helm is basically designed for a 3" cutout. That's pretty much the industry standard. Any steering wheel that has a key way hub (each ad tells you that) will fit this helm.
