The gas filled shock is 12" long when extended (mount to mount, center on center) and 8 1/2" long when closed (mount to mount, center on center). This shock is constructed of steel tubing and has composite reinforced ends built for the marine environment. Great for use with heavy hatches, dock boxes, and just for easy opening.
